Carato Merlot Ticino DOC
Carato is produced with the best selection of Merlot grapes from stumps that are over 40 years old. The grapes are cultivated in the hills located above the town of Locarno, where they are exposed to lots of sun during the day, and to a fresh breeze during the night: which are the ideal conditions for a perfect maturation.
Grapes: Merlot -
Carato rests in French oak barrels for about two years. In the Italian language these barrels are called ‘Carati’. This wine is hallmarked by a great structure that reflects the territory where it was generated. The character is very intense, spicy and elegant, with very fine aromatic tones. - The colour is ruby red with purple reflexes. The perfume is very intense, with vanilla and vinous scents, slightly spicy, with hints of dried prunes and of blackberries. The taste is full, persistent and rich.
Great to prepare beef fillet "à la bordelaise". -
